Organization Validation:

● To ensure the process begins smoothly, double check that all information registered with your state or country is up to date and matches information supplied

● Sectigo will issue your certificate after verifying your organization through a few steps including confirming your organization’s presence in the registered location, telephone numbers and domain ownership.

● An Agreement email will be sent to the contact person’s email. Open the link provided in the email, and use your real name and job title to fill out the Agreement online. Do not use generic names like “Mr. IT” or similar placeholders.

When both domain validation and organization validation are completed, the certificate will be issued.

3. EV SSL Certificates

● Organization Validation: Same as that of OV SSL certificate, plus a telephone verification to validate your authority to order a certificate for the organization. Generally, Sectigo will call phone numbers listed on D&B and Google Maps. Below is an example of the online agreement.

Note: In the case of a sole proprietorship, you will be asked to verify identity through a live video call. To complete a live video ID verification, you’ll need to have your photo ID available before beginning the video verification through Microsoft Teams.
